App is junk!

Constant crashes and inability to read archived or previous to current issues. Love the magazine but who needs the crashes. If I buy a paper copy I can always go back to it even after I buy a new issue not so with the app.

Problem

When I open the app, the screen goes black. Thats it, just black.

First rate magazine has a zero quality app. Crashes often and re-installing does not fix it. Read this magazine on line or as a paper copy, but do not expect this app to provide content for you to read.

Hardly intuitive

Cant figure out how to delete or archive back issues.

Could be good but buggy

I want to like this and was excited to download it as a compliment to my print sub but its not intuitive (e.g, you cant see your library of magazines easily) and se functions dont work (e.g., cant save favorites to your folder.

Font size

The font size of articles in this app is far too small making it unreadable for many interested readers.

The Atlantic on iPhone

I didnt think that it would be a pleasure to read long articles on the iPhone but this app has made it so. Good work!

Horrible

This app is inexcusably bad. Atlantic offers a paid service, which I was originally considering. However, in the app, there are no indicated prices for subsciptions or individual magazines; as soon as you press "purchase", a notification prompts you to type in your password to complete the transaction. Furthermore, this app is not optimized for the larger iPhones. Come on, Atlantic - you are a news outlet and you havent included support for iPhone 6 (and later)… Its 2016! Youve had almost two years to update the app. Needless to say, The Atlantic iPhone app is a disappointing experience that has not been efficiently developed for enjoyable media consumption.

Needs Work

My main criticism is that the interface is confusing. I just want to open it, select an issue of the magazine to read, and get started. But half the time I dont know if Im in the magazine or an online article, and getting a view of all the magazine issues (covers) is buried under the "Stories" menu. And if you switch to another app, or walk away for 5 minutes? When you come back you will likely have to navigate your way back to the point in the article you were reading, rather than have the app open where you left off. So: put the view of all issues as the starting point; make diversions into other online content a sub-feature; and remember where we were in he magazine for when we come back.

Dont Do It ! Deletes All Saved Articles

All your previous Saved Articles and readership history are DELETED when you install this App update. If you are a Print subscriber transitioning to Digital/Print you are wise to wait til the bugs are out. Poor streamlining and little flexibility, no clear visual path to toggle freely btw. Current monthly ISSUE, individual Article(s), and Archive Issues. Think before you leap.

Doesnt download purchased issues

I downloaded this App to read a specific article in a specific issue. After selecting it and paying for it (and receiving an Apple receipt) the issue did not download. When I went back to the issue, it asked me to pay for it again. No quick response to a bug report. Dont bother with this buggy and unsatisfactory App.

Annoying

I cant login to my account on this app to link my print subscription. I get error messages when I try to update the app without any explanation why that is. Not impressed.

A bad review

Its too slow on the ipad 4. incredibly. Works bad with proxies. Hope the developers do something with it, otherwise its a lost experience and money... Especially for such a great magazine!

Please go back

The new version of the app is terrible, please go back to the previous one. It gave me great pleasure reading articles as if they were on paper, by going through the pages, the new version removed the pages and introduced infinite scrolling instead. Now reading the article feels just like any other reading experience on the web, it feels less authentic.

Complete garbage

I paid a print subscription and it does not work. It used to work long ago. Now it doesnt anymore. Fix it or do not complain for the death of journalism.

The worst

Is it possible to have as bad an app as this one is? Are the leaders of the Atlantic reading this? How awful, waste of time, bug infested junk. So frustrating

Love the Atlantic but the app is beyond pitiful

Need I say more? Downloads never work impossible to access content, just the worst app experience I have ever come across.

Atlantic app - Terrible

Login? Not possible. Ask to redo password? Also re-routed to generic login page. I am a print subscriber. Login using address label? Nope! Re-routed to generic login page which does not ask for address label information. How did I get to this point? App was not working. It crashed EVERY time. So, I deleted it and downloaded it again. Useless move. If The Atlantic is actually paying a company to create and manage this app, they should drop them, sue their sorry derrières for incompetence and find a new app writer!
